This is a library that is designed to be used by librarians and other administrators in conjunction with a back-end software system, such as an Integrated Library System. It provides features for running the library, managing its collections, and supporting staff tasks such as circulation. It also offers a wide range of reference tools including Dewey Decimal Classification numbers for many areas, ebooks via OPACs or OCLCs along with access to digital collections using licenses from Crossref. Cocomo is optimized for libraries in need of a CMS solution that can adapt to their needs while providing greater flexibility in the management of their data and content over time. It provides a greater level of control compared to other CMS solutions, as well as better security over data and content that is entered into the system. It focuses on user experience interface improvements that work with a responsive design. It also includes a wide range of features for users including searching for subject catalogs, both local and remote, using a single interface. Cocomo is built using the CodeIgniter PHP framework. It can support MySQL or PostgreSQL databases, but it also has the ability to be used in conjunction with SQLite databases due to its small size and secure nature. Cocomo is known for its swift creation of fully functional libraries based on the CodeIgniter framework. Cocomo is administered using the CodeIgniter administration application, which has an interface oriented for libraries, customized to fit individual needs. It also uses the cformsII framework to provide ease-of-use for administrators. Librarians can also use these themes for Cocomo:All Cocomo libraries share the same features, below are examples of common features used by libraries: The WordPress theme is not dependent on CodeIgniter or any other PHP framework. Its major limitation is that it does not have a back-end administrative interface, although it can be modified with a plug-in to work with Apache web server. The Cocomo startup package includes two themes as standard themes: the Niche and the Highrise. The Highrise theme is designed to provide a better user experience, while still being simple to use. It is a multi-purpose responsive theme that works for libraries, schools and other organizations. The Niche theme is designed to provide a simple website with a minimal amount of information. It can be used by organizations such as clubs and organizations who do not want a full-featured website, but may still want some contact information, along with basic functionality such as search capabilities. Additional themes are available from third-party vendors that work with CodeIgniter and/or WordPress within Cocomo libraries. These themes are designed to work with the Cocomo interface and provide a more advanced experience for users.Other libraries such as Stackoverflow and Reddit were using CodeIgniter along with WordPress before the release of Cocomo. CodeIgniter is used by many websites such as Stackoverflow, Reddit, and WordPress. Due to its use on large-scale websites, it was the first web application development framework (WAF) to be adapted and used by libraries and other organizations that require a lightweight CMS that is easy to manage and updated over time. It has been used for this purpose by many librarians since 2009, making it among the oldest web applications created using CodeIgniter as its programming language. cfa1e77820
